Misinformation

I was reading through some emails I received over the past week or so, and was startled over an article regarding the debate over gay foster parents, and a study that "claimed" homosexuals are 11 times more likely to sexually abuse adopted children. What was more disturbing was that in an on-air debate, this information was quoted on CNN.  It didn't take long for an article to appear debunking the claim, but the mere fact that it got on television is frightening.  Which seems to be a condition of our country of late: fear. This week I opted to post the article rather than write my own More >>

Letters To The Editor:

First, I don't ever plan on surgery. I have finally graduated to driving around dressed up, but that is as far as I have gone. This, as well as all other events that have led up to this level have been exhilarating, but is always fleeting. I am concerned that when I do step out into public, that too will not be enough. Is this a common problem, or do others find the satisfaction they desire?  Dressing up is very sexually "exciting", and I am afraid of the embarrassment. How do others handle it? -- Rachel

Dear Rachel, The embarrassment usually subsides in time, and unless you are a pure fetishist, as you begin to evolve and explore your inner feelings, I think the sexual excitement part will fade as well.  There are many plateaus at which you may find your own comfort level, but many people evolve beyond the sexual drive and find it replaced with an enjoyment of just "being." As far as "handling it?" One day at a time Rachel, one day at a time. -- Brianna
