Let Her Live

By Brianna Austin

She is sweet loving and in need

Her fragile soul hides in dark corners

Why should that be?

Was she bad, is there such a thing as bad?

How can the world be so sad and afraid, is that how the story goes?

Her spirit is love, strength & courage

Yet she hides in shame, and for that….who's to blame?

Let her live, let her grow

And share the love that yearns to be free

To comfort all that need her, including me

Such fear and sorrow in others eyes

A spirit is hard to understand

Normal is as normal does

Yet all the world is a jury

And that, I think, is what ignites my fury.

She should live outside the shadows

So, I will bring her out, and shout

Let her live as I decide

And not accept the disappointment in others eyes
