Summer Makeup Tips

E-mail Print PDF

Beads are lovely, but not beads of sweat!

"Wearing a wig in the summer can be a difficult task. Not only is it hot, but perspiration can run down your face and ruin your makeup."

TIP: Just before putting on your wig, take roll on clear antiperspirant (not deodorant) and run it along the ridge (just under the tip) of where the wig will touch your face. It's not a perfect solution, but it helps.

NOTE: With zero sweat this area will be VERY dry and subject to chaffing in friction areas like underarm and groin. You can use lotion of course, or a little vasoline like marathon runners do, or best of all use the clear odorless Bodyglide found at running shoe stores. These products can be used in the groin, perineum, and anal area as well because, yes, you have glands there too, along with sex specific sebaceous and pheremone glands that give that "man odor". Before I go out, I just apply antiperspirant in all these places!

Comments have word limit so i will send in pieces. You lose 30% of your body heat through the scalp, which is why it sweats so much. You can actually apply the antiperspirant all over your scalp since there are sweat glands all over. Use a gel stick, unscented probably, and apply a small amount to your fingerstips. Massage directly onto scalp to avoid gunking up the hair. For maximum sweat prevention use a cocentrated aluminum chloride (active ingredient in all antiperspirants ), product like drysol. You apply this the nite BEFORE and it essentually shuts down the sweat gland completely. One less thing to do when you're getting dressed! These products are good for sweaty feet too and can be applied daily for a week, then weekly after that for long term dryness. If this sounds unhealthy to some, you have thousands of glands elsewhere that will compensate. NOTE: With zero sweat this area will be VERY dry and subject to chaffing in friction areas like underarm and groin.
