This is for a commercial for Aldi - there have already been quite a few and they have a bit of a following as they are quite good.

The director has has just won Best Director at the British Advertising Awards. Have a look at Aldi Tea (which also just won an award) ALL PEOPLE FOR THIS AD MUST HAVE A WEST COUNTRY ACCENT - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

Shoot dates are 13th or 14th December 2011. The way they previously have worked is: They book up to 3 - 4 of each cast type/script, shoot them all and then use just one for the ad. £150 BSF for each who come to the shoot and then £500 usage for the one who is featured.

The ad is broadcast for 2 weeks-ish. The part is for a MAN, Eddie Izzard-ish. 25-35 YEARS. We are seeing him pre-make up, as it is morning. He looks comfortable in a dress, but needs to drop a dress size or two, i.e. the dress is a bit tight on him so please do not suggest yourself if you are very slender. We are not looking for a transsexual but a NON CAMP transvestite, from Bristol or West Country (so please ensure your accent reflects this). Likeable. Nice hair. He is NOT a fat gruff guy in a dress (like those paper towel adverts), neither is he a camp transvestite - it’s the opposite.

The dress they will put him in will probably be something like a blue wrap around dress - low key as though he is dressing up for a party, doing it for a laugh.
